Of these, AngloGold Ashanti manages four mines. In Ghana, the company has two mines, Iduapriem and Obuasi, with Obuasi currently on care and maintenance. The region is divided into three mining entities – Vaal River, West Wits and Surface Operations. More Australasia AngloGold Ashanti’s operations in the Australasian Region, Sunrise Dam and Tropicana, are located in the northeastern goldfields of the state of Western Australia. The region produced 520 000oz of gold in 2016, which accounts for 14% of the group’s total gold production.
