 » The front desk staff was great, but the rooms were dirty and old.
Housekeeping did not do a good job at refreshing the room on a daily basis (restocking Kleenex, towels, etc; even the cover of the blanket was not replaced when making the bed).
The bathroom had bugs and it was obvious that there hadn’t been a good cleaning for quite some time.

Room 701 was great the only issue is being that 700 is a 2 storey penthouse and its outside balcony is directly above the bedroom.
When people were out on the balcony its like they're in your bedroom.
I mentioned this to Daniel have I never herd a noise again.
It was a newly decorated room, without a kitchen, but had a strange layout because of this.

Location is great and we felt very safe.
Breakfast was sumptuous and buffet always clean and full.

Solo - 20/11/2017 « Love the hotel, Love the Staff » I always feel welcome staying at Mercure Arpoador Rio de Janeiro.
Stayed in a renovated room this time.
It was nice but I liked the old arrangement better.
The entire staff treat me like family! Ludmila and Victor especially kind and helpful, as usual.

Business - 14/11/2017 « So much more for less » The location of this hotel is perfect, mid-way between Copacabana and Ipanema beaches and within walking distance of the underground.
Having an apartment allows buying and cooking your own food from the many local supermarkets, at a fraction of restaurant prices.
TripAdvisor review Business - 14/11/2017 « So much more for so much less » This hotel has the best location for the big beaches - a few minutes walk from either Copacabana or from Ipanema.
It is also in walking distance of an Underground station.
With an apartment style room, you can prepare your own meals for a fraction of the cost of restaurants and it is a pleasure in itself to go shopping in the many local Zona Sul supermarkets for the food and wine.

I have stayed in Mercure Hotels with great bed linens.
Staff is also not so trained for Le Club Accor Platinum.
I requested late check out for 1 hour after the check out time and they denied and did not give me other options.

The room was smaller than I? imagined and a bit tight for 4 adults, but we loved being close to the beach and great shops and restaurants.

The hotel is adequate and caters to all basic needs.
The cost / benefit ratio is adequate.
The service is cordial.
Room services could be better.
I am frequent guest at Novotel and Hong Kong and therefore the points program.
