Friends - 25/10/2017 « No sleep allowed at Mercure! » As with my previous stays, the hotel was a fair value, good room and breakfast.I will not stay at this property again. On Saturday and Sunday starting 7:30AM there are spinning classes at the beach just in front of the hotel with VERY LOUD music and screaming instructors. I was amazed the hotel even allows them to be there. Just as I did not sleep past 7:30AM on either day,surely none of your other guests did either. Sleepless in Rio because Mercure did not do enough to guarantee peace and quiet. Shame on Mercure. Business - 15/10/2017 « FACILITIES OK BUT RESTAURANT HAS A LOT TO IMPROVE » The ROOM was fine, clean and comfortable. The location is very good. The RESTAURANT is not good, the service is poor. At breakfast there were either no cups or no bowls or no bread or no fruit. An omelette takes forever and comes greasy.Considering the guests pay R$ 40,00 for breakfast, it is not OK at all.The FOOD is terrible, tasteless, and not carefully prepared. My steak was served with a piece of plastic.It seems to me everything is done trying to save money in many ways sacrificing the quality of the service and food. Thank you. The room was perfectly equipped and spotless when I arrived and perfectly equipped and spotless was kept that way without housekeeping ever bothering me. We wanted to come back to the hotel after a day on the beach and we would find out that pool was closed since 5 pm.The staff was all really kind and helpful. Business - 01/08/2017 « Excellent: friendly, clean, modern, nice views » Excellent stay. Very friendly staff. Modern and clean rooms/bathrooms. I travelled for work and was happy internet worked meticulously. Minor downside: breakfast costs an extra 40 Br$ for the full monty - which is too much for me as I only wanted coffee and a croissant.
